Receiving a boat and an amount of military equipment as a donation from the Italian authorities

A ceremony was held this morning in Beirut Naval Base on the occasion of receiving a hydrographic survey boat and a number of military equipment offered by the Italian authorities to the LAF. Thr ceremony was held with the presence of the deputy Chief of Staff for equipment Brigadier General P.S.C Manuel Kirijian from thr Lebanese side, representing the minister of Defense Mr. Samir Moqbel and the LAF Commander General Jean Kahwagi along with several officers, as well as ambassador Massimo Marotti and an accompanying delegation from the Italian side.  Brigadier General P.S.C Kirijian recited a letter of appreciation on behalf of the LAF Commander and presented it to ambassador Marotti. Moreover, Brigadier General P.S.C Kirijian presented to the ambassador the army memorial shield as a token of appreciation to the efforts of the Italian authorities in supporting the LAF.
Furthermore, ambassador Marotti delivered a speech on the occasion in which he expressed his country's appreciation to thr national role played by the LAF in preserving Lebanon, as well as the army's major accomplishments in fighting terrorism. Mr. Marotti also confirmed that his country is committed to continue boosting the army's logistic and combat capabilities.
