Security measures during May

The Army Headquarters - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: 

As a result of the security measures taken by Army units in different Lebanese regions during the past month of April, these units arrested 4218 individuals of different nationalities, some of them for being involved in terrorist crimes, opening fire, assaulting citizens, trafficking narcotics, theft, smuggling and possession of weapons and narcotics and others for committing different violations that include unlawful roaming in the Lebanese territories and unlawfully driving cars and motorcycles.

The confiscated items amounted to 8 combat rifles, 37 guns, 17 hunting rifles and a number of light ammunition as well as 211 cars, 189 motorcycles, 2 fishing boats, 76 pickup trucks and amounts of narcotics and communication devices, surveillance cameras and different electronic equipment.

The arrested individuals were turned in along with the confiscated items to the relevant authorities in order to take the necessary measures.
