Specialized army units have revealed that the tunnel in Al Fanar contains no weapons or military equipment

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
On October 19, 2026, specialized army units inspected the tunnel discovered in Al Fanar - Metn District, North Lebanon. The inspection revealed that the tunnel has a total length of approximately 13 meters (5 meters vertically and 8 meters horizontally) and contains no weapons or military equipment.
Several individual pits were found inside the tunnel, and one suspect allegedly involved in digging it was arrested.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the intended purpose of the tunnel.
