Sudanese nationals arrested in the south of Lebanon

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On 20/5/2020, a military unit part of the Directorate of Intelligence arrested in the town of el-Kozah – South of Lebanon two Sudanese nationals for their suspicious presence in the mentioned area. The suspects confessed that they crossed the Palestinian occupied territories on 19/5/2020 through the technical fence – next to the town of Yaroun. The suspects also confessed that Israeli enemy soldiers arrested them and forced them to go back to the Lebanese side of the border on 20/5/2020 contrary to established procedure in coordination with the UNIFIL.

Furthermore, another Directorate of Intelligence military unit arrested 4 other Sudanese citizens in the town of Alma el-Chaab – Wadi Hamoul while preparing to cross to the occupied Palestinian territories.

Investigation is in process under the supervision of the judiciary authorities.
