General Aoun commended the performance of the soldiers who participated in the drill and delivered a speech in which he said: “This drill comes as an application of the border management strategy that is now awaiting to be signed. We, as LAF and other security forces, are getting ready to apply it through joint training and drills. What we witnessed today through this drill is a high level of professionalism in coordination between the LAD and security forces in order to face a theoretic terrorist operation and it is the first of its kind through a border passage. It also confirms that passages are the responsibility of all security forces, not only the LAF.”

“Undoubtedly, passages today are a lot better than what they were years ago, all thanks to your efforts and your commitment to preserve security and control the borders. There are no illegal passages. There are few gaps that we are working on closing, knowing that several advanced states are unable to fully control their borders.”

General Aoun also stressed the importance of border regiments and stated that the command is providing them with all equipment and training in order to facilitate their missions in border control and preventing smuggling and are the first on the priority list of the command. He ended by addressing the soldiers: “thanks to your efforts, you are accomplishing one achievement after another, thus having a positive impact on the entire nation.”
