Targeting the army with hostile Israeli airstrikes resulted in the martyrdom of three soldiers and the injury of five others

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

Hostile Israeli airstrikes targeted the Lebanese Army on March 17, 2026, resulting in the martyrdom of three soldiers and the injury of five others in Zebdine, Qaaqaait al Jisr, and Doueir – Nabatieh. This coincided with the continued Israeli attacks, which have caused a large number of martyrs and wounded, and led to widespread destruction of property and infrastructure.

The Army Command strongly condemns the Israeli attacks targeting both military personnel and civilians. The continuation of these attacks at an increasing pace reveals the destructive intentions of the Israeli occupation toward our country and constitutes a blatant violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty, the security of its citizens, and relevant international resolutions. It also negatively impacts stability in the region.

In this context, the Army Command stresses the need to implement international resolutions, particularly Resolution 1701, and to adhere to the ceasefire agreement.
