Tripartite meeting in Ras el Naqoura
The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
On 31/01/2023, a special tripartite meeting was held in Ras al-Naqoura, chaired by the Commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon - UNIFIL, Head of Mission, Major General Aroldo Lázaro Sáenz, and attended by a delegation of Lebanese Army officers headed by the Lebanese Government Coordinator with UNIFIL, Brigadier General Mounir Chehade, within strict measures of the Corona epidemic.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Lebanese side discussed the repeated Israeli attacks that occur daily and held the enemy responsible for their consequences. He also called on the United Nations to exert maximum pressure on the Israeli enemy in order to curb its hostile practices.
The Lebanese side brought up the Israeli enemy’s continuous violations of Lebanese sovereignty, by land, sea and air, reaffirming Lebanon’s commitment to UN resolution 1701 and all of its components. They also expressed the urge for a withdrawal of the Israeli enemy forces from all the occupied territories, including: Shebaa Farms and Kfarshouba hills, the outlying area of Mari which partly includes the urban expansion of the town of Ghajar, the 17 points considered permanent violations of the Blue Line, and the 13 occupied areas under reserve.
The Lebanese side stressed the need to remove the barbed wire recently placed by the Israeli enemy in the area where Lebanon reserves the Blue Line in Al-Adaysah. The Lebanese side also stressed the need to remove the fence placed by the Israeli enemy on Ras al-Naqoura hill, north of the Blue Line, as well as the concrete wall built at the northern entrance to the railway tunnel in the aforementioned area between Lebanon and occupied Palestine.
