A truck containing drugs prepared to be smuggled abroad seized, owner arrested

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On 05/07/2022, a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate arrested in Majdal Anjar – West Beqaa the citizen (M.Y.) who owns delivery trucks operating between Bekaa and the Port of Beirut, since they are used by a gang to smuggle drugs into Türkiye.

After monitoring and follow-up, the truck was seized in Tripoli with an amount of drugs hidden inside.

The arrestee and the seized items were turned in to the competent judicial authorities.
