Turning in Syrian arrested individuals to the relevant authorities and releasing others

The Army Headquarters – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

 Following its previous statements and upon the instruction of the relevant authorities, the Intelligence Directorate finished its interrogation of arrested Syrian individuals who amounted to 356 persons. It turned in 56 of them to the military general prosecution office for performing different terrorist acts, some of them against army posts in Ersal in 2014, leading to the martyrdom and injury of several soldiers as well as the loss and destruction of military equipment, others for belonging to the terrorist “ISIS” and “El-Nusra” organizations among other terrorist organizations and others for logistically working for the sake of these organizations in transporting and smuggling fighters, money, weapons, combat ammunition and food to these organizations. Moreover, the Intelligence Directorate turned in 257 arrested individuals to the military police in order to be handed over to the General Directorate of General Security for unlawful residency in the Lebanese territories while others were released for having legal residencies
