Two individuals arrested in Jeser Al Matar – Ghobeiry for kidnapping two women

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On 19/11/2021, a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate arrested in Jeser Al Matar – Ghobeiry the citizens (A.J.) and (M.J.) after ambushing a bus which they were riding.

The arrestees had kidnapped the Syrians (S.F.) and (A.A.) with her daughter (9 months) after deluding them that they could help them travel to Netherlands through trafficking. After the kidnapping, they also demanded a ransom from the families of the two Syrian women in exchange for their release.

The arrestees were seized in possession of a sum of money belonging to the two women and a military handgun.

The investigation began with the arrestees under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
