The Army Commander-in-Chief, General Rodolph Haykal, visited the Fouad Chehab Command and Staff College, where he met with officers of the 40th Staff Course, the 2nd English Staff Course ahead of their graduation, and officers of the 64th Battalion Commander Course, in the presence of the College Commander.

During the meeting, he emphasized the importance of these courses in developing officers' leadership and academic capabilities, as well as enhancing their ability to make decisions and confront challenges under various circumstances.

He pointed out that the nature of modern warfare and the requirements of military leadership have undergone significant changes, making it essential to keep pace with scientific and technological advancements and to make use of all available capabilities. He also stressed the importance of exchanging expertise and experiences, given their role in broadening officers' perspectives and refining their professional skills.

The Army Commander praised the participation of officers from security agencies and from friend countries in the courses, considering that such diversity strengthens cooperation and knowledge exchange. He added: “The Army’s role becomes most evident during difficult times, which requires you to remain patient and faithful to your mission despite the challenges. The military institution is not deterred by certain criticisms directed at it based on narrow interests, because it places the supreme national interest among its highest priorities. Be loyal to Lebanon, and let your allegiance be to the institution and to the nation, away from any other considerations.”

He also affirmed to the officers of the Battalion Commander Course that their leadership responsibilities constitute a key milestone in their military careers and have a direct impact on the performance of the units they command.

At the conclusion of the visit, he called on the officers to assume their responsibilities with confidence, uphold the values of the military institution, and work sincerely in service of the nation. He emphasized that the strength and cohesion of the Army are fundamental pillars of Lebanon’s stability and protection.
