Visit of General Aoun to the Central Military Hospital
The LAF Commander inaugurated this morning the office of retired officers at the Military Healthcare in the presence of the Healthcare Commander, Lebanese Army officers and the head of the Veterans’ Armed Forces League retired Major General Othman Othman and the executive committee of this League. General Aoun said in his speech that this project is a qualitative and progressive step to serve retired soldiers in a way that facilitates administrative measures. He confirmed that the Military Institution will remain loyal to the veterans and will spare no effort in terms of providing the best medical healthcare they need. General Aoun noted that the Military Healthcare attaches a great deal of importance to the life of every soldier whether in active duty or in retirement. He added that the Military Healthcare has made important achievements in several sectors among which the Dialysis Section that became ready to treat 30 patients per day thanks to state of the art equipment according to internationally approved standards comparable to the equipment used by the best medical centers in Lebanon. The Medical Healthcare has also strived to develop the operations section, the bones treatment section, internal diseases as well as the rehabilitation of the hospital kitchen and the establishment of an office dedicated to the matters of martyrs and handicapped soldiers.
General Aoun noted that these sections were developed and rehabilitated in a way that takes into consideration the necessities of the troops with special needs. He commended the new work mechanism adopted by the Healthcare to bolster medical surveillance and to control the spending cap in a way that led to a decrease in financial burdens.
Retired Major General Othman expressed his gratitude to General Aoun on behalf of the League for the efforts invested to preserve the dignity of retired officers. He also expressed a complete confidence in the medical services provided, and offered General Aoun a commemorative shield as a token of gratitude.
General Aoun took a tour afterward around the rehabilitated sections of dialysis, operations, bones, internal diseases and the kitchen.
