Visitors of General Aoun

The Lebanese Army Commander in Chief General Joseph Aoun received in his office in Yarzeh the Chief of the French Defense Staff General Thierry Burkhard. They discussed the cooperation and coordination between the two armies.
General Burkhard praised the prominent and important role played by the military institution in maintaining security and stability in Lebanon, stressing on the continuous support for the Army, especially in terms of providing emergency aid and developing its operational capabilities. In addition, he confirmed his country's commitment to participate in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
For his part, General Aoun thanked his French counterpart for his country's permanent support for Lebanon and its army, pointing out that this support helps the military institution to accomplish all the required missions and duties, while facing challenges due to the economic, political and social situation. Despite all that, soldiers are still believers in the sacredness of their mission.
General Aoun stressed that the institution is still cohesive and able to protect Lebanon and its people, and that Army Command is striving with all its energy to alleviate the burden of the crisis off the military.
