VISITORS OF GENERAL AOUN

The Lebanese Army Commander in Chief General Joseph Aoun received in his office in Yarzeh a delegation of assistants to members of the US Congress from the Democratic and Republican parties, in the presence of the American Ambassador to Lebanon, MRS. DOROTHY SHEA. They discussed the situation of the military, the challenges it faces given the current crisis, and ways of providing it with continuous support.
The members of the delegation praised the professionalism of the army and its good use of American aid in a way that enhanced its operational readiness, cohesion, and ability to maintain Lebanon's security and stability despite difficult circumstances, stressing the need to continue cooperation and provision of assistance to help it overcome the current stage.
General Aoun stressed that American support is essential in enabling the army to continue carrying out its tasks and alleviating the hardships it faces.
