Wanted individual arrested and a Syrian killed

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
A patrol from the Intelligence Directorate arrested on Baalbek’s highway the citizen (AA.G.), nicknamed “Ali Chadia”, wanted under several arrest warrants for shooting at a military checkpoint and patrol, and his involvement with others in the kidnapping of the two Syrian children Muhannad and Ghaleb Majed Aroub.
The wanted individual, accompanied by the Syrian (M.A.), had tried to flee when the patrol arrived, and opened fire while it was chasing them. The patrol returned fire injuring the wanted and killing the Syrian.
The wanted individual was transferred to a hospital for treatment, and the investigation was initiated under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
