Members from the Engineering Regiment begin the search and rescue operation in Al-Bustan – Türkiye and Jableh – Syria

On 07/02/2023, Members of the two groups of the Engineering Regiment in the Lebanese army began their search and rescue operations in the affected areas in the Republic of Türkiye and the Syrian Arab Republic, in cooperation with members of the Red Cross and Civil Defense.

The members of the first group had arrived in Adana - Türkiye and moved to the city of Al-Bustan by land, while the members of the second group had arrived in Jableh – Syria at night by land.

Upon their arrival, the two groups began working to remove the rubble and search for survivors in difficult climatic conditions, low temperatures, and an unsafe work environment as a result of the continuing aftershocks that could cause additional collapses in the cracked buildings.
