Army Continues to Implement Security Measures across Various Lebanese Regions

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
As part of the security measures carried out by the military institution to combat drug trafficking and prevent smuggling activities, army units arrested six individuals as follows:
- A raid on a house in Hay Al Sharawneh – Baalbek led to the arrest of a Syrian national (Y.A.), and the seizure of a quantity of weapons, military ammunition, raw materials used in drug manufacturing, and a number of Captagon pills.
- The arrest of citizen (A.A.) and citizen (A.H.) at the Rweimeh checkpoint – Akkar for attempting to smuggle medications illegally.
- The arrest of citizens (A.H.), (M.A.), and (A.M.) in the area of Habsheet – Akkar for their involvement in an incident on April 15, 2026, which involved gunfire. The weapons and ammunition used in the incident were also seized.
Additionally, a Rapid-type vehicle was seized in the Rammah – Akkar, carrying consumer goods intended for smuggling.
The seized items have been handed over, and investigations with the arrestees was initiated under the supervision of the competent judiciary. Efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining individuals involved.
