Clashes with the Army During an Operation to Seize a Vehicle Used for Drug Transportation and Manufacturing

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

A patrol from the Intelligence Directorate came under fire in the Al Qasr – Hermel area while carrying out an operation to seize a vehicle used for transporting and manufacturing drugs. Members of the patrol returned fire.

As a result of the operation, the Directorate succeeded in confiscating the vehicle. The clash resulted in the death of one of the wanted suspects, while the other fled to an unknown location. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend him.

The seized items were handed over, and an investigation has been initiated under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
