The Army Recovers the Body of a Soldier Who Was Killed in an Israeli Airstrike Near His Post Close to the Qaraoun Dam – West Bekaa

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
On May 27, 2026, an Army unit succeeded in recovering the body of a soldier who was killed as a result of an Israeli hostile airstrike targeting him in the vicinity of his post near the Qaraoun Lake Dam in West Bekaa. The recovery operation was carried out following continuous field efforts and amid intensive flights by hostile drones.
The unit had been unable to reach him the previous day due to ongoing security threats and continued hostile attacks on the area.
The area had been subjected to several Israeli airstrikes on May 26, 2026, which resulted in the death of the soldier and a number of paramedics while they were attempting to carry out a humanitarian mission to evacuate him.
