The army arrested 16 people as part of a crackdown on individuals disturbing public security in various regions across Lebanon
The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
Army units carried out security operations in several regions, including raids and temporary checkpoints, as part of efforts to pursue individuals who disturb public security. The operations resulted in the arrest of 10 Lebanese citizens and 6 Syrians, as follows:
• Raids on the homes of wanted individuals in Housh Al Nabi – Baalbek led to the arrest of citizens (AA.H.), (F.H.), (AA.H.), (D.Z.), and (H.CH.) for opening fire. A military pistol, ammunition, and additional military equipment were seized.
• In Tripoli, citizens (KH.R.), (M.T.), (T.T.), and a Syrian (M.AA.) were arrested for possessing weapons, ammunition, a quantity of Captagon pills, and military equipment.
• In Majdala – Akkar, raids on the homes of wanted individuals resulted in the arrest of citizen (R.K.) for opening fire, along with the seizure of a military weapon, ammunition, and a hand grenade.
• In Betchay – Baabda, citizen (J.N.) was arrested after opening fire, and a military weapon and ammunition were confiscated.
• In Mastita – Jbeil, 5 Syrians were arrested for moving within Lebanese territory without legal documentation.
The seized items were handed over to the competent authorities, and investigations were initiated with the arrestees under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
