Funeral of Martyr Captain Elie Al Khoury
The Army Command and the residents of Kfarjarra–Jezzine bid farewell to martyr Captain Elie Al Khoury, who was martyred on 6 June 2026 as a result of an Israeli airstrike targeting him on the Khardali–Kfartebnit road (Nabatieh).
In the presence of Interim Army Commander-in-Chief Major General Hassan Audi, the funeral procession commenced in front of the Central Military Hospital, where the Military Police and the Army Band rendered the appropriate honors and ceremonial tribute. The martyr was posthumously awarded the War Medal, the Wounded Medal, and the Silver Military Appreciation Medal.
The body was then transferred to Saint John the Baptist Church in Kfarjarra–Jezzine, where the funeral was held in the presence of the representative of the Minister of National Defense, Major General Michel Menassa, and Interim Army Commander-in-Chief Major General Hassan Audi, who delivered a speech stating:
“We bid farewell to the eternal rest of martyr Captain Elie Al Khoury, who was martyred as a result of a brutal Israeli aggression. This attack, which has targeted various regions of our homeland and deliberately struck both civilians and military personnel, represents yet another chapter of Israeli brutality and the destruction it leaves in its wake across our country.
As Lebanon faces numerous challenges, we must emphasize the importance of adhering to the principles of unity and the supreme national interest, and of rallying around the Lebanese Army as the nation’s unifying institution and the guardian of civil peace.”
