A donation handover ceremony was held at the Disaster and Crisis Management Authority headquarters in Kfarshima, marking the delivery of assistance provided by the Governments of Canada and Norway through UN Women, in support of women and girls from families of military personnel affected by the war.
The ceremony was attended by the UN Women Representative in Lebanon, Gielan El Masri; the Ambassador of Canada, Gregory Galligan; the representative of the Embassy of Norway, Christine Knudsen; and the Head of the Disaster and Crisis Management Authority, representing the Commander-in-Chief of the Lebanese Army, General Rodolph Haykal, along with a number of officers.
The donation aims to help alleviate the impact of war and displacement on Lebanese families, particularly those of Lebanese Armed Forces personnel.
