31 soldiers injured and 5 individuals arrested in Tripoli

The Army Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On 26/01/2021, 31 soldiers were injured to various extents and suffered contusions after being assaulted and pelted with stones and Molotov cocktails and firecrackers by a number of protesters during a demonstration in Tripoli.

Military vehicles and materials have also sustained damage and 5 individuals have been arrested for trespassing on public and private properties and committing riots and attacking Security Forces.

An Investigation has been initiated under the supervision of the valid judiciary authorities.
