The Armed Forces Commander participated in the evaluation meeting of the US aid to the LAF

The Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun participated in the joint meeting that was held at the Pentagon with the US committee assigned to the US military aid file, headed by the assistant minister of defense for international security affairs Ms. Kathryn Wheelbarger in addition to several army officers and with the presence of US Ambassador to Lebanon Elizabeth Richard and Lebanese ambassador to Washington Gabriel Issa.
The Lebanese side held a presentation about the LAF using weapons and US equipment in executing missions at the borders or inside the country and the extent of its efficiency, in addition to future needs that contribute to developing its military capabilities, particularly in what’s related to the naval borders and the coming challenges, whether in water border control or the protection of Oil platforms.
The US side also confirmed the continuous support to the LAF, taking in consideration the future needs that help the army execute its missions. In the end, General Aoun offered an appreciation shield to Wheelbarger.
General Aoun met with the vice Chief of Joint Staff, General Paul Silva where they discussed the bilateral relations between both armies.
