Army Chief of Staff visited the garrison of Hammana and the Directorate of Geographic Affairs

The Lebanese Army Chief of Staff Major General P.S.C Hatem Mallak visited the Garrison of Hammana at the Barrack of Saïd el-Khatib with the company of Mount Lebanon Region Commander Brigadier General P.S.C Adnan Saïd. Major General P.S.C Mallak toured the barracks’ facilities and examined the administrative and training activities. He listened to a briefing at the advanced training center of the anti-terrorism and espionage branch in the Directorate of Intelligence that addressed all activities performed by the center as well as the employed modern training means. Major General P.S.C Mallak confirmed during his meeting with the officers and troops that the training workshop in the army will be accelerated in order to facilitate the competent handling of any modern weapons or equipment and with the aim of bolstering the combat units’ capability to confront the Israeli enemy and terrorism. He noted that the army has been able to take the initiative in the confrontation with terrorist organizations at the eastern border following the successive bombings and the arrest of terrorist masterminds in a way to confirm the determination to drive away terrorism conclusively whatever the sacrifices and costs may be.

Major General P.S.C Mallak also visited the Directorate of Geographic Affairs in Araya where he examined the condition of the directorate and its missions. He commended the technical advancement attained by the Directorate in terms of preparing maps and leaflets as well as performing topographic works. He asserted the distinguished role performed by the Directorate on both national and military scales particularly with regard to documenting the demarcation of the Lebanese borders and lands and placing its capabilities at the disposal of all official departments notably those handling real estate affairs.
