Army Condemns Attack on UNIFIL and Conducts Investigation to Arrest Those Involved

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

The Army Command condemns the incident involving a patrol from the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in the area of Al Ghandourieh – Bint Jbeil, following an exchange of gunfire with armed individuals, which resulted in injuries among members of the patrol.

The Army Command affirms the continuation of close coordination with UNIFIL during the current sensitive phase. The army is also conducting the necessary investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident and to arrest those involved.
