The Army Headquarters announces the demise of retired Brigadier General Semaan Gerges Saiid

The Army Headquarters – Directorate of Orientation announces the demise of retired Brigadier General Semaan Gerges Saiid who passed away on 25/07/2017. In the following is a summary of his life:

• Born on 01/07/1923 in Mshen – Byblos
• Enrolled in the army as cadet officer as of 01/10/1944
• Was promoted to Lieutenant from 01/10/1946 and rose to Brigadier General from 01/07/1975
• Granted several medals and the commendation and congratulations of the LAF Commander several times.
• Attended several sessions inside and outside the country.
• Married with 3 children.

The deceased will be transferred on 27/07/2017 at 9.00 from the Lady of Martine Hospital – Byblos to the residence of the deceased in Mshen – Byblos where the funeral will be held on the same date at 17.00 in the Lady of Descent Church then the burial will take place in the family cemetery.

Condolences will be held on 26 and 27 /07/2017 in the residence of the deceased in the mentioned town and on 28/07/2017 from 11.00 until 18.00 in the Maronite Cathedral of St. George – Beirut.
