Arrest of 8 Syrians in the Bekaa Region and a Lebanese Citizen in Qaa – Hermel

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

As part of the security measures carried out by the Army in the Bekaa region to pursue lawbreakers and combat smuggling, an army unit, supported by a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate, conducted raids on Syrian camps, resulting in the arrest of eight individuals for illegally entering Lebanese territory.

Additionally, a patrol from the same directorate arrested the citizen (H.F.) in Qaa – Hermel for leading a network involved in smuggling stolen cars and drugs outside Lebanese territory. He is wanted under numerous arrest warrants.

The investigation was initiated with the detainees under the supervision of the competent judicial authority.
