Body of Wanted Suspect Found in Building Under Construction in Al Haykaliye – Tripoli

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

Further to its previous statement regarding the martyrdom of a soldier and the injury of two others as a result of a shooting incident in Bab Al Tebbaneh, and following ongoing surveillance and security operations, an army unit has arrested three individuals involved in the incident. On April 18, 2026, after receiving information about an incident inside a building under construction in Al Haykaliye - Tripoli, an army patrol was dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, the patrol found the body of a wanted individual (A.H.), who had previously opened fire at an army patrol, resulting in the death of the soldier. Weapons, ammunition, and military equipment were also recovered at the scene.

The investigation was initiated under the supervision of the competent judicial authority to determine the full circumstances of the incident.
