Under the patronage of Prince Albert II of Monaco and in the presence of: the Lebanese Ambassador to France Mr. Rami Adwan, Major General P.S.C. Milad Ishak representing the LAF Commander in Chief General Joseph Aoun, and the Director of the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) Admiral Luigi SINAPI, a celebration was held on the occasion of the World Hydrography Day, which coincides this year with the first centenary of the organization's establishment.

The Chief of Staff of the Italian Navy, Admiral Guiseppe CAVO DRAGONE, and the Commander of the Naval Forces in the Lebanese Army, Marine Colonel P.S.C. Haitham Dannawi, participated in the ceremony.

The Lebanese national flag was hoisted at the organization's headquarters, with Lebanon being the only country to have joined it this year due to the great professionalism shown by naval forces in the field of hydrographic works after the disaster of the explosion of the port of Beirut.

Noting that Lebanon's integration in this organization expresses international recognition of the professionalism of the charts prepared by the Department of Naval Hydrography at the global level.
