The Chief of Staff visited the headquarters of the 5th Intervention regiment
Chief of Staff Major General P.S.C Amine el Erem visited this morning the headquarters of the 5th Intervention Regiment in Kfardounin – the South where he toured the sections and attended a briefing concerning the missions performed by the regiment in its field of responsibility and different needs. Major General el Erem then met with the officers and soldiers conveyed the directives of the Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun, then visited the borderline front posts of the regiment, including Bir Chaaib post and Maroun el Ras post where he was informed of the taken defense and security measures.
The chief of Staff stressed the importance of preserving maximum preparedness in order to face the schemes of the Israeli enemy in these delicate circumstances. He also stressed the cooperation and coordination with the UNIFIL in the frame of Resolution 1701. Major General el Erem ended by commending the massive sacrifices offered by the LAF in defending the borders and dignity of the nation and in preserving the stability of the region.
