The graduation ceremony of civilians working for associations, governmental and non-governmental organizations working in mine and cluster bomb danger awareness was held at the Regional School for Humanitarian Demining – Saïd el Khatib barrack – Hammana. The ceremony was attended by the head of LMAC, Brigadier General P.S.C Jihad el Bachaalani, representing the Armed Forces Commander in addition to ambassadors, civilians and officers. Brigadier General Bachaalani delivered a speech on the occasion in which he stated: “This unprecedented cooperation in the history of the Regional Demining School and local associations comes in terms of mine danger awareness and sparing citizens from getting injured following their explosion, particularly in light of the large number of mines and cluster bombs bombed by the Israeli enemy and the remnants of war infesting our land for decades.

Therefore, we are all called to exert extreme efforts in order to curb the repercussions of this danger. It is worth mentioning that throughout long years, we were able to accomplish a noticeable progress in this field, in terms of raising awareness against the dangers of mines and cluster bombs, which is the primary step to avoid these dangers, in addition to humanitarian demining.”

The ceremony ended with the distribution of certificates and a cocktail reception was held on the occasion.
