The handover ceremony of a Cessna Caravan 208C offered by the US authorities

The handover ceremony of a Cessna Caravan 208C offered by the US authorities in the frame of the agreed aid and agreements program was held this morning in Beirut Airbase. The ceremony was attended by the deputy Chief of Staff for equipment in charge Brigadier General P.S.C Jean Farah representing the LAF Commander General Jean Kahwagi, as well as US Ambassador to Lebanon Ms. Elizabeth Richard who was heading a delegation from the embassy, in addition to several officers and reporters.

Ambassador Richard delivered a speech on the occasion in which she pointed out that the handover of this 3rd drone offered to the LAF and its state of the art combat specifications confirm the importance of the security partnership between both friend countries. Ms. Richard commended the particular efforts of the LAF in fighting terrorism and expressed her country’s commitment to continue offering military aid in a way to contribute to boosting the combat capabilities in order to protect Lebanon’s borders and defend its sovereignty.

Moreover, Brigadier General P.S.C Farah recited an appreciation letter on behalf of the LAF Commander and handed it to Ambassador Richard. Brigadier General Farah also stated that the high standard relations of cooperation between both armies on different levels at this phase in particular is a pertinent proof of the USA’s commitment to support the efforts of the LAF in order to preserve Lebanon’s stability from the repercussions of dangerous crises facing the Middle East.
