Handover ceremony of a donation offered by Chinese authorities to LAF

Rafic Hariri international airport hosted this morning the handover ceremony of doses of COVID-19 vaccines offered as a donation from the Chinese authorities to LAF.

The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Lebanon Mr. Wang Kejian, the Chinese Military Attaché Brigadier General Zheng Yuchong, His Excellency the Minister of Public Health Dr. Hamad Hassan and the member of the Military Council Major General Elias Al-Shamiya representing LAF Commander in Chief General Joseph Aoun, in the presence of LAF officers.

The Chinese ambassador delivered a speech in which he stressed the importance of the vaccine as a means of preventing and overcoming the pandemic, noting that this cooperation reflects the deep feelings of friendship towards the Lebanese people and army.

Furthermore, the Minister of Public Health delivered a speech in which he praised the efforts made by the People's Republic of China to help Lebanon increase its capabilities to confront the epidemic, and thanked it for this donation.

Major General Al-Shamiya delivered a speech in which he said: “The doses of Covid 19 vaccines that we receive as a donation from the Ministry of Defense of the People's Republic of China for LAF represents a beacon of hope and a support of great importance for our institution in terms of protecting its members from the threat of the Corona pandemic, and helping it to continue in carrying out the various tasks assigned to it.”
