The handover ceremony of a Hydrographic survey boat and a number of equipment

The handover ceremony of a Hydrographic survey boat and a number of equipment, offered as a donation from the Italian authorities to the LAF, was held this morning at the headquarters of the Naval Forces. The ceremony was attended by the deputy Chief of Staff for equipment Brigadier General Jean Farah representing the Armed Forces Commander, Italian Ambassador Mr. Massimo Marotti and several officers. Brigadier General P.S.C Farah delivered a speech on the occasion kin which he extended his appreciation to the Italian authorities for their constant support of the LAF. Brigadier General Farah also stated that this aid will have a positive impact on the performance of the Naval Forces, thus increasing their capability to perform their missions.

Furthermore, the Italian Ambassador delivered a speech on the occasion in which he expressed the appreciation of his country to the national role played by the Army in order to preserve Lebanon’s stability. Mr. Marotti also stated that this aid confirms once again the firm ties between Italy and Lebanon as well as the partnership based on the interests of both friend countries.

In the end, Brigadier General Farah recited an appreciation letter on behalf of the Armed Forces Commander and delivered it to Ambassador Marotti along with the Army commemorative shield as a token of appreciation and gratitude.
