Handover Ceremony of an Italian Donation to the Lebanese Army

A ceremony was held at the Military Healthcare Directorate to mark the handover of a donation provided by the Italian authorities to the Lebanese Army. The donation aims to strengthen emergency response capabilities and ensure the provision of essential healthcare services.

The event was attended by the Head of Military Healthcare, representing the Minister of National Defense, Major General Michel Menassa, and the Army Commander-in-Chief, General Rodolph Haykal; the First Counsellor of the Italian Embassy in Lebanon, Silvia Tosi; the Head of Mission and Force Commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, Major General Diodato Abagnara; and a number of senior officers.

Ms. Tosi reaffirmed Italy’s steadfast support for the Lebanese Army amid the current circumstances and challenges. She commended the Army’s efforts and expressed appreciation for its vital role in safeguarding Lebanon’s stability.

For his part, Major General Abagnara highlighted the cooperative and friendly relations between the military institution and UNIFIL, stressing the importance of continued cooperation and coordination between the two sides.

Administrative Brigadier General Dany Bcherawi presented a letter of appreciation from General Haykal to Ms. Tosi, conveying the Army’s gratitude for Italy’s continued support during the current period.
