The handover of a donation offered by the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the LAF

The handover ceremony of 15 DAF vehicles offered by the Kingdom of the Netherlands  to the LAF was held at the Logistic Brigade with the presence of Brigadier General Ziad Naser, vice Chief of staff for equipment, representing the Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun in addition to the Ambassador of Netherlands to Lebanon Mr. Jan Waltmans and Dutch military attaché, Lieutenant Colonel Johan Carel Gerritsen and several officers.

Ambassador Waltmans delivered a speech on the occasion in which he stressed the importance of cooperation between both armies and confirmed the commitment of his country to continue offering military aid to the LAF. Moreover, Brigadier General Nasr delivered a speech in which he stated: “We consider this recurring initiative as a fruitful result of the constructive cooperation between our countries, which has a positive impact on the ties between the LAF and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It goes beyond doubt that the capabilities of transportation and maneuverability form a key component of the Logistic support that Armed Forces provide and a critical factor while conducting any mission in times of peace and war. Therefore, this donation is considered a significant step toward strengthening our logistic capabilities and will surely have a positive impact over the performance of our units which are deployed throughout the Lebanese regions.”

In the end, Brigadier General Nasr expressed his appreciation to the Dutch Ambassador for this donation then offered him the army commemorative shield, in appreciation of the efforts of the Dutch authorities in supporting the LAF.
