The Higher Supervision Committee convened at the second Land Border Regiment HQ

On this morning, the Higher Supervision Committee of the Assistance Program for Land Border Protection convened at the Second Land Border Regiment Headquarters in Ras Baalbek. The meeting was headed by the LAF Commander General Joseph Aoun with the participation of the United States Ambassador in Lebanon Ms. Elizabeth Richard and the Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Lebanon Mr. Chris Rampling in addition to senior officers and Defense Attachés. The attendants listened to a briefing that summed up the missions conducted by Land Border Regiments and the challenges they face. The officials took a tour around the surveillance outposts, particularly the outpost of Houwirta that is affiliated to the Second Land Border Regiment and used to control some of the most important illegal crossing points. General Aoun met with the officers and soldiers of the Regiment to whom he gave his instructions. General Aoun also praised the firm will of the troops and the exceptional efforts they are investing to control the border.
