Honoring ceremony for the martyrs of the Directorate of Intelligence in the presence of the Army Commander In Chief General Joseph Aoun

Army Command- Directorate of Intelligence organized an honoring ceremony for the martyrs of the aforementioned directorate in the presence of the Lebanese Army Commander in Chief General Joseph Aoun, the director of intelligence Brigadier General P.S.C. Antoine Al Kahwaji, a number of officers and the martyrs’ families.
The ceremony began with a minute of silence, then Generals Aoun and Al Kahwaji unveiled the memorial to the martyrs, after which the army commander in chief laid a wreath on the monument in honor of their memory and in honor of their sacrifices.
He delivered a speech in which he said: "Today we bow in honor of the heroes and martyrs of the Directorate of Intelligence who sacrificed their blood in order to preserve the homeland and its sovereignty. They carried in their hearts the cause of the homeland. Without them, Lebanon and its army would not remain firm in the face of challenges. They and their parents, who have endured the pain of loss and the bitterness of separation, have our utmost appreciation and gratitude".
He added: "We will continue their journey in safeguarding our country because sacrifice is a destiny for us and not an option. We are now fighting a battle of stability against chaos, and steadfastness against collapse. We will not allow the military institution to collapse, we will not allow the homeland to collapse, and we will continue to do our duty. History is written by the martyrs with their blood and the heroes by their sacrifices."
On the other hand, Brigadier General Al kahwaji stressed in his speech that: "our martyrs did not cease for one day to sacrifice their lives for the sake of their homeland, so they gained from life that which is most valuable, and from their martyrdom we gained glory, honor and pride. In front of you we affirm our commitment to preserving the precious sacrifices, by protecting our homeland Lebanon and maintaining civil peace in a way that achieves inner peace, which is not made by cowards, but is made by those who are willing to sacrifice in the arenas of honor, witnessing the truth and becoming martyrs for it.
At the end of the ceremony, memorial shields were distributed to the families of the martyrs.
