Honoring ceremony for retired senior officers on the occasion of the Army Day
The Hall of General Njeim – Yarzeh hosted an honoring ceremony for retired senior officers on the 73rd Army Day. The Ceremony was attended by LAF Commander General Joseph Aoun who was accompanied by Army Chief of Staff Major General P.S.C. Hatem Mallak in addition to a number of senior officers.
The ceremony initiated with the National anthem and the head of the Lebanese Armed Forces Veterans League retired Major General Othman Othman delivered a speech on the occasion where he expressed his gratitude to LAF Commander for the invitation and for all the retired officers who came. He also extended his appreciation to the LAF for all the efforts and for confronting the Israeli enemy and terrorism.
General Auoun said in his speech that the retired officers are the ambassadors of the military institution in the civilian society for they remain the bearers of patriotic values and virtues that they endeavor to spread among the younger generations. They contribute to unite the Lebanese under the country’s flag for the sake of a better future particularly during the critical situation that the country is witnessing. General Aoun concluded his speech by expressing the military institution’s admiration toward the veterans and noted that the Army will forever remain their bigger family.
The gathering was concluded with a cocktail party and a cake in honor of the guests.
