The inauguration ceremony of the 28th session of the general assembly for the Arab union for veteran warriors and victims of war in Lebanon

Under the patronage the Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun, represented by Chief of Staff Major General P.S.C Amine el Erem, the inauguration ceremony of the 28th session of the general assembly for the Arab union for veteran warriors and victims of war in Lebanon, held for the first time in Lebanon, from 16/09/2019 till 19/09/2019 in Monroe Hotel – Beirut, with the presence of official, political and diplomatic figures in addition to several high ranked officers.

The ceremony began with the Lebanese National Anthem, then the anthem of the union. The head of the veterans union, the representative of the international federalism for veterans, the representative of the secretary general for the League of Arab states and the head of the Arab union for veteran warriors all delivered speeches on the occasion in which they expressed their appreciation to the Armed Forces Commander for his support and patronage in this session and their appreciation to the LAF for fighting the Israeli enemy and terrorism. Moreover, Major General P.S.C el Erem delivered a speech in which he stated: “we regard our meeting today as a valuable multilateral opportunity, as it gathers delegations representing veteran warriors from most Arab armies. The LAF Command gives special attention to the affairs of veteran retired warriors and soldiers and greatly appreciates their sacrifices after having sacrificed their youth for serving the country. It considers them a valuable treasure of military expertise and messengers for the military institution in society.”

“our region is facing a mysterious future and unknown challenges due to the bloody clashes it is witnessing, leading to shaken stability in several Arab countries in view of continuous attempts by the Israeli enemy in order to satisfy its greed in our land and resources, and constant terrorist schemes to target our social structure and stir tumult. It all requires us to have unity and courage and to work with conscience in a way to serve the national and Arab interest.”
