The inauguration ceremony of a military training center at the 7th Brigade

The inauguration ceremony of a military training center, funded and executed by the Spanish battalion in the UNIFIL at the 7th Brigade was held this morning in Kawkaba, with the presence of the commander of the 7th brigade, Colonel P.S.C Simon Zgheib and the Chief of Staff of the East Sector in the UNIFIL, Colonel Federico Saez Peco as well as several officers from the LAF, the UNIFIL and the Spanish battalion.
The ceremony began with the Spanish and Lebanese anthems, then the commander of the Spanish battalion, Lieutenant Colonel David Cuesta delivered a speech on the occasion in which he shed light on the importance of the center in raising the level of professionalism for the troops in the brigade. Lieutenant colonel Cuesta confirmed that his country will continue to provide support to the LAF.
Colonel Zgheib delivered a speech on the occasion in which he stated: “this project strengthens the relation between the LAF and the UNIFIL and enhances the joint cooperation with the Spanish army and helps in exchanging expertise and knowledge and boosts mutual trust, specially that the Spanish battalion will participate in the training process at the center.”
Afterwards, a symbolic maneuver was held concerning combat in habituated location. In the end, commemorative shields were exchanged.
