The Commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces, General Rodolph Haykal, visited the Airborne Regiment Command at Colonel Martyr Dani Harb Barracks – Ghosta, where he met with officers and soldiers, offering his greetings on the occasion of the holidays. He praised their honorable performance during the municipal and mayoral elections, toured the regiment’s facilities, and was briefed on its missions and the challenges it faces.
On this occasion, General Haykal affirmed that the LAF is fulfilling its duty to the nation by safeguarding its security, based on the sanctity of its mission. He stressed that the LAF stands at an equal distance from all parties, without discrimination, and emphasized that the security stability maintained by the Army is the foundation for economic stability.
He addressed the troops, saying:
"The LAF is the backbone of Lebanon’s security, and strong, cohesive military units are the backbone of the LAF itself. These units, in turn, rely on disciplined and professional personnel, which makes the role of every soldier essential, regardless of rank."
He added:
"The LAF’s performance enjoys the trust of both brotherly and friendly nations, as reflected in their ongoing initiatives to support the military institution — most recently, the generous support from the State of Qatar."
General Haykal also stressed that the LAF’s efforts to preserve security stability must serve as a foundation for national leaders to strengthen economic stability. This, in turn, would lead to improved living conditions for military personnel in a way that honors their sacrifices — a matter that is being closely followed by the LAF Command.
