The LAF received a donation offered by the authorities of the Netherlands

The logistics Brigade – Youssef el-Osta barrack in Kfarshima hosted this morning a ceremony where the LAF received 15 DAF vehicles as a donation offered by the Netherlands authorities to the LAF. Brigadier General P.S.C Ibrahim Abboud, commander of the Logistics Brigade attended the ceremony and represented the LAF Commander General Joseph Aoun. The Defense Attaché of the Netherlands Lieutenant Colonel Carel Gerritsen also attended the ceremony in addition to LAF officers.

Brigadier General Abboud delivered a speech on the occasion in which he said “this cooperation actively carries on with high momentum, particularly in the fields of training, arming and logistics. It also manifests through the participation of the Dutch unit in the UNIFIL, aiming to contribute to establishing security and stability all over the South region. It is inevitable here to commend the sacrifices of the troops of the Dutch units as well as all the troops of the UNIFIL and their sense of responsibility, professionalism and discipline as well as their courtesy in dealing with the citizens. Their active participation in various development and cultural activities have also had a major impact in strengthening the ties of trust and tranquility between both sides.

Finally, Brigadier General P.S.C Abboud read an appreciation letter on behalf of the LAF Commander and handed it over to Lieutenant Colonel Gerritsen and offered him the LAF Commemorative shield as a token of appreciation to his efforts.
