A live fire maneuver in Akoura with the presence of the Armed Forces Commander
The Airborne Regiment performed in Akoura – Laqlouq a live fire maneuver simulating the attack of terrorist groups deployed on a hill. The maneuver took place with the presence of the Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun and the US Ambassador to Lebanon Ms. Elizabeth Richard as well as the US and French military attaché and several officers and civil guests. The maneuver also took place with the participation of units from the 1st Artillery regiment, the 1st Armored Vehicles regiment, the military Healthcare and the Air Force and included shootings with heavy, medium and light weapons.
The Armed Forces Commander commended the accomplishments and heroic achievements of the Airborne Regiment during the dawn of the Outskirts battle, particularly on that day that coincides with the anniversary of the end of the battle. General Aoun also commended the performance of the other units in terms of coherent combat roles and swift operations in the battle. Moreover, General Aoun confirmed that the LAF are always prepared to face different security and military challenges on the inside and at the southern borders.
