A live fire maneuver in Hanoush shooting field – Hamat

With the presence of the Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun and the Commander of the US Central Command General Joseph Votel and US Ambassador Elizabet Richard as well as several high-ranked officers, a live fire maneuver was performed in Hanoush shooting field – Hamat by a unit from the NCO school – 2nd year and troops from the general directorate for state security with the participation of units from the Air Force, the Navy, the Engineering, signaling, rangers, airborne, 2nd artillery, 1st intervention, 1st armored vehicles regiments and the 2nd, 10th and 12th infantry brigades, under the supervision of the special forces school and the US and British training teams. The maneuver simulated taking down a terrorist group entrenched in built locations.
During the maneuver, shootings with helicopters, tanks and some heavy and medium weapons were used in addition to detonating bombs as well as detonating bombs. The maneuver also included air support and disembarkation operations as well as the evacuation of injured individuals from the battlefield using helicopters. For the first time, Bradly troop transporters and Super Tucano airplanes were used during the maneuver.
In the end, General Aoun and General Votel commended the performance of the participating units as well as the good coordination between land and air forces. Both generals confirmed that the cooperation in performing combat maneuvers will continue in the coming phases.
