Meeting of the committee of the American – British aid program for land border defense

The LAF Commander General Joseph Aoun headed the meeting of the higher supervision committee of the American – British aid program for land border defense in the presence of the United States Ambassador to Lebanon Ms. Elizabeth Richard and the ambassador of the United Kingdom Mr. Chris Rampling, accompanied by the Defense Attachés of both countries and members of the joint work team. The steps achieved in border control and defense were discussed during the meeting in addition to other steps that will complete the execution of the program in light of the LAF’s needs.

General Aoun expressed his gratitude to the British and United States authorities for the continuous work to implement the aid program dedicated to provide land border regiments with the needed equipment and praised their keen interest in supporting the LAF in all the fields.

Ambassadors Richard and Rampling praised the competence of the LAF and the distinguished achievements in terms of controlling the Lebanese border and expressed that their countries will keep on providing the necessary support that the LAF needs in order to continue performing the missions to defend Lebanon and keep peace and stability.
