Meeting of the high committee supervising the American, British and Canadian assistance program for land borders protection

LAF Commander in Chief General Joseph Aoun headed the meeting of the high committee supervising the assistance program for land borders protection, in the presence of the British Ambassador to Lebanon Mr. Chris RAMPLING, the United States Ambassador to Lebanon Mrs. Dorothy SHEA and the Canadian Ambassador to Lebanon Mrs. Chantal CHASTENAY and members of joint work team.

The ambassadors RAMPLING, SHEA and CHASTENAY praised LAF’s role in preserving border security and countering smuggling and infiltration attempts, and its distinguished performance in confronting terrorist organizations in order to preserve Lebanon’s security and stability.

They affirmed that their countries are committed to supporting LAF and enhancing its capabilities at various levels, especially in monitoring and controlling borders.

General Aoun praised the efforts of officers and soldiers in maintaining security during this phase heavy with economic and social crises, and thanked the American, British and Canadian authorities for continuing to execute the assistance program for equipping land borders regiments, and for their ongoing support to assist LAF in effectively monitoring and controlling the borders.
