Meeting of the Higher supervision committee over the US and British aid program for land ‎border ‎

The Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun received in his office in Yarzeh the US Ambassador Ms. Elizabeth Richard and British Ambassador Mr. Chris Rampling where they discussed the general situation and the bilateral relations between the LAF and both armies. Afterwards, the Armed Forces Commander headed in Yarzeh the meeting of the Higher supervision committee over the US and British aid program for land border protection with the presence of ambassadors Richard and Rampling along with the joint work team where they evaluated the steps taken in this field as well as the upcoming ones in order to carry on with the program in light of the needs of the LAF. General Aoun expressed his appreciation to the US and British authorities for the military support offered to the LAF, particularly the land borders and expressed his appreciation to their commitment to this support in order to face the different challenges such as the attempts of terrorist elements to infiltrate inside the Lebanese lands and target their stability as well as smuggle individuals and narcotics across the borders.

Both Ambassadors Richard and Rampling commended the exceptional efforts exerted by the LAF and confirmed that their authorities will continue supporting its efforts to defend Lebanon and preserve its stability and safety.
