The LAF Commander General Joseph Aoun resumed his meetings in the United States of America on the sidelines of the annual meeting for the evaluation of the United States Aid program to the LAF with a meeting that joined him with the Chairman of the House Appropriation Committee Harold Rogers who visited Lebanon frequently. Mr. Harold assured General Aoun that he is working to continue providing U.S. support to the LAF. General Aoun also met later with the Senator of Lebanese descent Darin Lahoud who addressed the general situation in the region and its repercussions on Lebanon especially with regard to the Syrian displaced. Senator Lahoud also stressed the role of the LAF in keeping internal stability.

Congressman Adam Kinzinger, member of the International Relations Committee, who visited Lebanon recently delegated by the United Nations, confirmed to General Aoun during a separate meeting that his country might be cutting the budgets dedicated to a number of Armed Forces with the exception of the LAF, noting that the United States is convinced that the continuation of this assistance will enable the LAF to keep on preserving peace and stability in Lebanon. General Aoun also met with the Chairman of the International Relations Committee in the House of Representatives James Rich and the Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee in the House of Representatives Jean Chahine.
